Coming from the UK we were not familiar with the process for buying property in Canada but Ally and Dennis made the whole process a lot simpler than it might have been. They understood our needs and went out of their way to find us the property that we had been seeking. Dennis strongly recommended an oil tank scan and to everyone’s surprise an underground oil tank was found and subsequently removed before the purchase was agreed. We have worked with Ally and Dennis on three separate occasions: buying our first home, selling to move off the island, and most recently buying a place on the island again. Throughout all of these events, they have been truly wonderful people and highly skilled professionals. Our favorite memory with them was when were looking for our first home. We found a listing that we were interested in, and they immediately arranged a viewing for us on New Years Day. We ended up loving the place and putting an offer in, and they took a good chunk of the day with us to see the place, talk about the process, walk us through the paperwork, and give us clear instructions for our next steps. At no point did they rush us, and I feel they were genuinely happy to be spending the holiday with us. Ally and Dennis are very involved in the community in Victoria as socially engaged citizens, and they are highly knowledgeable about the real estate market here. They are actively involved in ongoing professional development, and so are up to date on trends and changes in the industry. They have established a wide network of contacts and make use of these relationships when they need more information to support their clients. For example, in our most current deal with them, they have a client who is on the strata we are looking to purchase in, and so they were able to clarify information with her that we needed from the strata documents. When we were preparing to sell our place, they did an amazing job helping us make improvements to ensure it presented as well as possible. They are great communicators and kindly deliver constructive feedback, for example suggesting a particularly loud color in one of our rooms might be better if it was changed to something more muted. Due to their level of knowledge of strata properties in Victoria, they have given us immediate honest feedback about concerns they are aware of with certain properties we have expressed interest in which helped us save time and move on to other options. Ally and Dennis are extremely thorough and have strong attention to detail. They made sure that every point in our contacts made sense and worked for us. They are skilled negotiators and we have been pleased with the purchase and selling prices of all properties they’ve helped us with. They are hard-working, prompt, respectful, creative, and flexible.
